ABOUT DEPARTMENT
- The Department of Computer Science was established in 1994.
- The department offers 3 year UG program in B.Sc Computer Science, BCA, B.Sc Computer Science with Data Analytics, BSc Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence and Data Science), B.Sc Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, BSc Computer Science with Cyber Security, B.Sc Data Science and Analytics and a 2 year PG program in M.Sc Computer Science and Ph.D.
- Our programs emphasize the development of strong foundational principles in computer science, alongside advanced technical expertise in cutting-edge areas such as artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity and software engineering.
- Our curriculum is designed to foster critical thinking, problem-solving and innovation, preparing students for successful careers in academia, industry and research.

The Department of Computer Science(CS & AI), in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS), of Sree Narayana Guru College successfully conducted an Orientation Program on NSS on 31st July 2025. The session was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr.Kalaiarasi K, NSS Programme Officer (Unit III), SNGC, CBE who served as the Resource Person for the event. Dr. Kalaiarasi delivered a thought-provoking and engaging address, shedding light on the core values, mission, and social relevance of NSS. She emphasized the role of youth in nation-building and encouraged students to embrace community service as a means of personal growth and societal development. The program ignited a sense of social responsibility among the students and laid a strong foundation for their future involvement in NSS activities.
The Department of Computer Science – BCA organizes the “ BCA Association Inauguration” on 25.07.2025 Friday at Conference Hall. The Chief Guest Mr.Vijayanand Sathyanarayanan, Senior Project Manager from Bosch Global Software Technologies, Coimbatore acted as a resource person for the Inauguration and delivered a Seminar on “DESIGN THINKING”.
The Department of Computer Science – AI & Cyber Security Programme inaugurated the Association of AI & Cyber Security on 23.07.2025 Wednesday at Vivekananda Hall, along with a seminar on “The AI Era:Shaping the Future with Real-World Intelligence”. The Chief Guest Mr. Imran Basha M , Manager – Quality Engineering, ASCENDION, Bangalore, delivered a session on the AI in everyday life , Real-World Use Cases in Healthcare, Finance, Education and Future Scope & Ethical Considerations.
- The Department of Computer Science organized a seminar on 18.02.2025. The Resource Person Mr. Celestine, Robotic Engineer,Coimbatore from Robomatic,Coimbatore delivered a seminar on “The Role of Data Science in Decision Making”.
