Departmental Industrial Visit/ Tour Programme

Dr.K.Kadirvelu, Scientist F and Additional director, DRDO, gave an overview about the Institution. Dr. Naveen Kumar, Research scholars Mr.M Harikrishnan and Ms.Nithya familiarized advanced instruments for Nano characterization like DLS, SEM, ZETA potential analyzer, UV RDS, ICP-MS etc. to the participants by taking them to different laboratories

The Department of Microbiology organized a one day industrial visit to Milma Palakkad Dairy, Kallepully, Palakkad on 06.09.2024. The aim of the visit was to familiarize the various processes and instruments used for Dairy industry and applications of pasteurization and waste water treatment. I B.Sc and I M.Sc students of the Department of Microbiology participated in the visit. Dr. Haritha K H and Dr Lakshmipriya VP Assistant Professors, Department of Microbiology accompanied the students.

Department of Microbiology along with Nature Club of Sree Narayana Guru College conducted an Extension Programme on “Swachata Abhiyan- Cleaning Campaign” on 25/01/2025 at Kava Near Malampuzha Reservoir & Forest Area, Walayar Range, Western Ghats with the assistance of Forest Department, Government of Kerala. 23 students from I B.Sc & II B.Sc Microbiology along with Dr. Nisy S (Asso.Prof & Head, Department of Microbiology & Convener of Nature Club) and Dr. Haritha K.H (Asst.Prof,Department of Microbiology) collected 4 bags of Non-Biodegradable waste from the area. The collected wastes were handed over to the forest department.
