About the Cell
Entrepreneurship is the process of setting up a business, taking it from an idea to realization. Entrepreneur is an individual who takes the risk to start their own business based on an idea and reaping most of the rewards of the business. Aim of the cell is to encourage the spirit of self-employment among entrepreneurs and to develop small and medium enterprises. And to encourage new venture establishment and expansion of the existing ones in rural areas through designing special programs.

- Day 01
Entrepreneurship Development Cell has inaugurated the 1st day of the Entrepreneurial Oriented Workshop on “Mandala Art” on 3/10/2020 between 3.00 PM & 5 PM. Ms. R. Dharani, Art Trainer – SHILPA BALAKA – ART FORUM has been invited as the Resource Person of the occasion. The Resource Person, spoke about the Origin of Mandala Art. And she taught different techniques & tricks to draw the patterns in Mandala Art. The faculties & students from many colleges participated & benefited.
- Day 02
Entrepreneurship oriented Workshop Series – “Recycling Art” on 10/10/2020 (Saturday). Ms. S. Rani has been invited as the Resource Person. She taught different art works like painting on Glass bottles. Pen Organizers using jute bags & recycling art with dry leaves & lychee seeds. The interested participants from in & around SNGC took part in this workshop and got benefited.
- Day 03
Entrepreneurship oriented Workshop Series – “ Natural Soap & Shampoo Making ” on 17/10/2020 (Saturday). Ms. S. Vijaya Lakshmi, Social Activist, Vasavi International Association invited as the Resource Person. She taught the audience how to make the natural soaps and shampoos, Bio- floor cleaners. Many participants from in and around SNGC participated and got benefited.
- Day 04
Entrepreneurship oriented Workshop Series – “ Self Grooming (Regular Make Ups)” on 24/10/2020 (Saturday). Ms. Gayathri Anoop, Make – Up Artist, Gayu’s Magic Touch has been invited as the Resource Person. She had manifested how to groom oneself for regular and party occasions. She had exhibited the wide range of makeup products with price and its application.
- The Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Sree Narayana Guru College organized a workshop on “Wire Bag Knitting” for Women Self Help Groups in K.G. Chavadi on 30.09.2021. Dr. M. ILANGOVAN, Principal inaugurated the session. Ms. MANONMANI. S, Art Trainer was the Resource Person. She gave a practical session on how to knit the wire bags. She has also exhibited various hand works done with wires. Dr. S. SASIREKHA, Co-ordinator of the Cell had welcomed the gathering. Ms. GNANAMANI G, Secretary of the Cell, proposed the vote of thanks. The members of Women Self Help groups in and around K.G.Chavadi participated and got benefitted.
- The Department of Social Work and Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Sree Narayana Guru College Jointly organized a Skill Enhancement Programme – State Level Workshop on, “Entrepreneurship Skills Development” on 10.09.2024. Mr. S.Alexander Project Officer, Rhythem Social Service Society for Women, Coimbatore, acted as Resource Person and enlightened the students in gaining knowledge about crucial entrepreneurial skills which would help to develop their skills, competencies and behaviour to successfully select and start their own entrepreneurial venture.
- Entrepreneurship Development Cell successfully organized a Student Development Program on “Self Grooming Leads to Success” on February 24, 2025. The event commenced at 10:00 am in Seminar Hall. The Resource person Mrs. R. Kasthuri, Bridal Makeup artist & Proprietor, Vihaa Herbals, Coimbatore shared her eminent speech about the importance of self grooming. The Resource person trains the students in classic and creative hair styling, creative haircuts, hair colouring techniques, threading eyebrows, fundamentals and advanced practices related to beauty, make-up and skincare and other beauty treatments. Students practicing self-threading and makeup hairstyles, and then having their doubts cleared about makeup. That was a great way for students to gain hands-on experience and improved their skills.
